5 things to do in the Jordaan

Posted by Lisa Schotman on

It's been a while since I posted a blog post because I've been busy relocating to the new shop space in the center of Amsterdam! You can now find The Collection One at the Prinsengracht 110H in the Jordaan in Amsterdam.

The Jordaan is a well-known neighborhood in Amsterdam and, in my opinion, one of the nicest and most unique neighborhoods in the entire city. Visitors come here to enjoy the small streets, the large canal houses, the art galleries, bars, restaurants, and the general ambiance of the area.

In this blog post, I would like to share my favorite spots in the Jordaan with you:

Coffee at Sweets at Margo's Amsterdam

Margos is located within a 3-minute walking distance from The Collection One. I came across this place through Lisa Goes Vegan, but hadn't visited it until now. Their menu is entirely plant-based (vegan), mostly organic, and always made with fair-trade and sustainably sourced ingredients. I tried their cheese croissant and Danish, both of which were incredibly delicious. I highly recommend stopping by for a cup of coffee and a sweet treat. I'm also excited to try their sandwiches soon.

Drinks at R. De Rosa

Café R. de Rosa in the Boomstraat in Amsterdam's Jordaan was purchased by three local residents and opened as a cosy neighborhood café in June 2023. I enjoy the laid-back atmosphere and it's the perfect spot for a drink.

Dinner at La Trattoria Di Donna Sofia

I have known La Trattoria Di Donna Sofia for over ten years and still love it. The restaurant offers a variety of classic Italian dishes based on traditional recipes. This place never disappoints me.

Relax at Ojai

After receiving multiple recommendations for a good beauty salon in OJAI , I connected with the founder Alisa on Instagram. She offered me a facial, and I loved it! When I visit places like this, it's important to me that the founder or staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Alisa was both.

Shop at Enso Vintage

I'm thrilled that the new shop is near the beautiful Enso Vintage store.I have known Andrea and Liseth for a while, and we have collaborated on several occasions. In my previous shop location, I had been selling a range of their pieces, and we also hosted a joint pop-up weekend. I am proud of their new store's opening in the 9-streets area earlier this year, and I am delighted that we are now neighbors. Enso offers a beautiful curated collection of (designer) vintage pieces.
